BioGuardianes
Enpowering youth to make a change
Adriana Fernandez Ruiz, a remarkable young conservation leader at Senda Verde, is making a profound impact on the environment. Alongside a group of passionate children and teenagers from the communities of Cedro Mayo, Santo Domingo, and Yolosa, known as the “Bioguardianes,” Adriana is driving a movement to raise awareness about critical issues such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and the negative effects of changing land use.
They are going on a campaign to restore a substantial piece of the ecosystem by actively promoting native bee harvesting. Adriana and the Bioguardianes hope to build a profound sense of environmental consciousness and highlight the necessity of sustainable practices through involving these communities.
